One For Rosie 25/1 NRNB
The Coral Cup is a fiercely competitive race with usually a full compliment of runners. Similar to the county hurdle it’s fast and furious and pays to have a runner who stays the trip well.
No doubt I’ll have another selection come the day but the one I think is overpriced at the moment is One For Rosie. He’s has not been seen since running below par at Newbury shortly after Christmas after a fruitful campaign last season. While he’s ground versatile, I think he’s seen at his best with good in the description. It’s looking wet at Cheltenham currently, however, the forecast is looking slightly more promising for those horses who prefer better ground. One For Rosie ran a cracking race off top weight to be beaten narrowly at Sandown on soft ground over 2 and a half miles. He then followed that up at Aintree finishing a few lengths behind Reserve Tank and under a length behind Brewin’upastorm, which can be considered to be top class novice form last season. That was on good ground so you’d be hoping for good to soft conditions in the hope he can repeat that sort of form. Still on a mark of 145, this should see him get in easily and I still think that’s a fair mark for this son of Getaway. The absence since December is a concern but I’m hoping Nigel has just been waiting for better ground and non runner no bet provides some reassurance of money back if he doesn’t make the festival.
